The Finale That Ain't Really a Finale

Jeremy Danley

It's the end of an era and the beginning of a new one.  We are officially hanging up the headphones on the Bar Comedy USA News radio segment that took place with Double T on Rockford's “Home for Classic Rock”, 96.7FM, TheEagle.

It was four years every Tuesday morning reporting  to Double T and his listeners  about what's happening in bar comedy across the country.  And how here we are…   officially hanging up the headphones on the Bar Comedy USA News radio segment.

And shout out to Double T. He's a lot of fun to work with. And do that segment every week.

The curtain has come down. The mic is turned off. The bartender is yelling last call.

But before you start sobbing into your beer and crying like a heartbroken teenager, hold on.

Just hold your horses. We ain't gone. We're just getting started.

Why stop reporting on the fun, just because we can't do it on the radio? That's some corporate nonsense.

We can still do it on an online  live stream. That's right, folks. We can ditch the weekly radio update vibe and just go rogue. That's the new plan. Move the circus over to social media with a semi-daily live stream. You know, some days the Wi-Fi is bad and the hangover is worse. But we'll do hot takes and road stories and heckler horror shows and behind-the-scenes shenanigans. All the good stuff from Bar Comedy USA.

I mean, we spent years telling the world what it's like doing comedy in small town bars with shows that are oftentimes wedged between the karaoke machine and a dartboard and the sound system being routed through the mechanical animatronic mounted taxidermied deer head on the wall.

Now, we can go real time. We can go raw. We can go unfiltered. We don't have to just wait around for the Thursday episode. Now we can complain about Wednesday…  on Wednesday.

We can check in live from the road, see what's happening. Maybe even do get some video action happening.

So anyway, let's raise a glass. Let's toast the radio segment, Bar Common USA News in the mornings on 96.7 FM in Rockford. It made you laugh. It made you groan. It made you question your career choices. It's been a hell of a run.

Now we're taking this thing straight to your phone. Into the palm of your hands. One live stream at a time. So follow along. Subscribe. Follow. Whatever you do. Wherever you're watching.
